La construcción de un teleférico en el complejo arqueológico Choquequirao, que promueven las regiones Apurímac y Cusco, beneficiarían el desarrollo económico para los pueblos a través del turismo cultural, afirmó hoy la ministra de Cultura, Susana Baca.

Explicó que la obra tendrá una longitud de dos kilómetros y permitirá que los turistas lleguen al complejo en 30 minutos.

Previamente la titular de Cultura visitó el distrito de Cocharcas, donde fue recibida con gran algarabía por la población, que refirió que nunca antes habían recibido la visita de un ministro de Estado.

Machupicchu recibirá a un millón de turistas hasta fin de año [Español]

Por lo menos un millón de turistas, nacionales y extranjeros, visitarán hasta el cierre de 2011 la ciudadela incaica de Machu Picchu, en Cusco, un 30 por ciento más en relación al año anterior, informó la Cámara Nacional de Turismo (Canatur).

Carlos Canales, presidente de Canatur, detalló que, del total estimado, un 70 por ciento será extranjero y el porcentaje restante peruano, especialmente delegaciones estudiantiles.

Sostuvo que las celebraciones por el centenario del descubrimiento científico de Machu Picchu, en julio pasado, permitieron aumentar la afluencia turística en relación a 2010, en que llegaron 460 mil turistas extranjeros y 200 mil nacionales.

Pese al crecimiento, sin embargo, es necesario establecer una política sostenible y realizar un trabajo coordinado con el sector empresarial a fin de evitar nuevamente una disminución de visitantes como ocurrió en 2010 por las lluvias, refirió.
